Here are some quick, simple rules before RFA opens May 1st. Please also check the Rule Book regarding all aspects of RFA: Bidding, Franchise Players, etc.
1. Bids are made on our league message board. Please start a new message when bidding on a new player. Bidding on open players should be done from within that message as a reply.
2. At the start of RFA, Franchise Players will be locked. Please read the rule book on bidding on franchise players, if you’re planning to do so.
3. Please check the Google Spreadsheet before bidding. Opening bids placed on players who have an existing or closed bid will be immediately removed.
4. Bids will expire 24 hours from the LATEST bid. This will be enforced by the time stamp on the message NOT when the commissioner closes the thread. Once expired, all bids are locked and the existing owner will then have 24 hours to announce their retaining or releasing of that player. Retaining that player will cost the highest bid. Please make these announcements within that thread. If you fail to announce your intention to retain or release within 24 hours, the player will be released automatically.
5. At no time may you outbid yourself or place consecutive bids on a player.
6. You must have enough T-Notes to cover ALL outstanding bids in which you are the highest bidder.
7. Bidding on new players is allowed until 11:59PM on May 31. After that, no new bids will be allowed. Any bids that are still open after the deadline are still eligible to be bid on under the standard format.
8. RFA players may be traded at any point during this period, but players that have not received any bids are still eligible to be bid on. Players who have been bid on and closed may not be bid on again. Trading of franchise players follows the same rules as bidding on those players as outlined in the rule book. Please be sure you understand these rules before trading away or for a franchise player.
9. Owners are responsible for keeping track of their bids. Please check the “Send email notifications of replies” and/or check back often to make sure you are maintaining your bids.
10. Once a bid is placed, YOU MAY NOT EDIT THE MESSAGE. Owners that remove or edit a bid will be penalized $5 t-notes for 1st offense, $10 t-notes for 2nd offense and will be put on probation for the remainder of RFA for a 3rd offense. Removed/Edited bids will be reinstated at their original bid & time and subsequent bids from other owners will be adjusted as seen fit.
11. Finally – All teams must act solely on their own during RFA. Aligning bids together with one or more managers to cause detriment to one or more other teams will be viewed as collusion and all bids associated with those acts will be void. In short: Sharing strategy with managers is ok. Making plans to target other teams together is not and will be viewed as collusion.
Please let me know if you have any questions about anything, otherwise, HAPPY BIDDING!
